Kitchen by Mike – Sydney Airport – FAB Award Winner 2018 Globally for Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year
Located in Sydney Airport’s International Terminal 1, the Australian chef Mike McEnearney’s Kitchen by Mike expanded to its second outlet, now also featuring an express takeaway service – a first for the brand. In addition to the restaurant’s top quality dining experience, the new express bar features a menu of takeaway meal packs with foods like slow-cooked meats, salads, wraps and an extensive selection of breakfast items.
Sydney Airport is continuously enhancing its customer experiences, majorly investing in delivering new F&B venues to provide a wider selection of eateries and bars for travelers to choose from while they’re waiting for their flight. Neighbouring other casual dining restaurants like The Bistro by Wolfgang Puck, James Boag Upper Deck and a number of slow-paced bars like Heineken House and Coopers Alehouse, Kitchen by Mike was part of a series of F&B outlet installations lead by Adam Summerville in a massive renovation campaign by Emirates Leisure Retail Australia (ELRA) to improve its airport hospitality offerings across Australia.
Kitchen by Mike was named by the global retail awards institution, FAB, as the Airport Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year in 2018. FAB acknowledges and awards quality and innovation in F&B airport venues. Starting as a partnership between the Moodie Davitt Report and The Foodie Report, the FAB Awards established its name as a world-renowned airport F&B awards body.
The casual dining canteen-inspired atmosphere of Kitchen by Mike with simple but incredible home-style meals contributed along with the relaxed, inviting atmosphere the space cultivates contributed to this award.
